The basketball games that were scheduled tonight to be played in Miami have been cancelled due to the weather conditions!

NEVC KNIGHTS 3RD IN Conference Basketball Tournament!!

NHS applications are due TODAY ~ NO EXCEPTIONS!
They must be handed in to Mrs. Bybee.

"SPIRIT WEEK" February 13th - 17th!
Monday is "Heart Day"
Junior high & staff wear
RED.  High school wear BLUE.
Tuesday is "Circus Day"
Dress like you are in a circus. (i.e. performer)
Wednesday is "Generation Day"
7-9 dress like babies, 10-12 dress like senior citizens.
Staff dress as teenagers.

Thursday is "TOGA Day"
Sport a toga (google toga)
Friday is "BLACK OUT DAY"

Show your school spirit!

Financial Aid Workshop for Juniors and Seniors and their Parents - Tuesday, February 14 at 6:00 p.m. in the high school business room. Donna Thomas, Director of Crowder College in Nevada, will present tips about the FAFSA and even help you get started.

On February 14 (date change this was originally scheduled for the 15), the sophomore class will ride the NRTC bus to Nevada to tour the NRTC campuses. The sophomore class will be eating lunch during the 3rd lunch shift.

Mid-Quarter Eligibility Check will occur this Friday, February 17!! Reminder -To be eligible for extra curricular activities students must have no grade of F and a C average. Progress Reports will be mailed home.

Fort Scott Community College Admissions Representative, Janet Beene, will be here to visit with those students who will be attending FSCC next fall and any other interested juniors and seniors on Tuesday, February 21, at 11:30 a.m. in Mrs. Naas' office. Please sign up on the sign-in sheet on Mrs. Naas' door.

Junior Girls: Cottey College is holding a College Exploration Day for junior girls on Wednesday, February 22, 9: 00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (This event is free and lunch will be provided.) This is not just a recruiting day for Cottey. Those who participate will be given general information that will help them as they begin the college search process.
If you would like to partcipate, please sign up on Mrs. Naas' door by Tuesday, February 14.

Crowder Community College-Nevada- Admissions Representative, Amber Ogle, will be here to visit with those students who will be attending Crowder College next fall and any other interested juniors and seniors on Thursday, March 8, at 9:00 a.m. in Mrs. Naas' office. Please sign up on the sign-in sheet on Mrs. Naas' door.

Yearbooks are for sale @ $35 each.

Friendly Reminders:

When you arrive at school, you are expected to come in to the building and report to the music room for supervision purposes (or the cafeteria if you eat breakfast).  If you do not want to come in to the building, then do not arrive on the parking lot until time for school to start.  It is a safety issue.

Friendly Reminders:REMINDER that you are NOT to wear caps/hats during school in buildings!  If seen on you, they will be taken! Cell phones are to be OFF during school hours!  Students are NOT to be in the big gym after school or on weekends without a specific purpose and teacher/coach/adult supervision.

Students are NOT to be on facebook, myspace, myyearbook or ANY social network site!  This includes any chat options.  School computers are for education purposes only and are to be used when needed for school projects.  Students who are on any of the restricted sites will lose ALL computer privileges. 

Remember to sign in/out if you are entering a class late or
leaving during class.

Students need to wear basketball shoes or clean gym shoes for PE Class.  Students are NOT to wear street shoes on the gym floor during PE or at any time.

Mrs. Naas has a suggestion box outside her door.  If you have a message that you would like to leave for her, please fill out a slip and drop it in the locked box.

If you have lost your student planner and would like to purchase a new one for $5, they are now available in Mrs. Naas' office.  No planner?  No pass to leave class.

Dual Credit Students receive reimbursement for their tuition costs!  Bring a copy of your bill showing that you have paid and a copy of your grades to Mr. Naas.

Sports Schedules are Subject to Change - Check with the coach for updates.

Seniors are allowed 2 college visit days and juniors are allowed 1 college visit day. This needs to be prearranged with the school office at least one week prior to the visit. Bring back a verification form from the college. Also, these days count towards your total number of absences.
